Hertfordshire Country Home
Step into a countryside home that will transport you to a realm of vibrant colours and eclectic vintage pieces.
We had the incredible opportunity to breathe new life into this once lacklustre family home, infusing it with our unique vision.
When we received the call from a young family who had just acquired their first home in the picturesque Hertfordshire countryside, we knew we had an exciting project on our hands. The rooms were devoid of character, clad in dull beige wallpaper, and filled with dated wooden furniture sets from the 90s. It was time for a complete transformation, and the family entrusted us with the task of creating a vibrant, cosy, and truly one-of-a-kind home brimming with traditional English charm.
Hertfordshire Country Home
Surrounded by expansive glass windows overlooking the serene garden, we wanted to capture the essence of nature indoors. We carefully selected Arabascato marble to create a stunning feature on the splashback, beautifully paired with Oxford Blue cabinetry. To connect the space to the surrounding greenery, we incorporated an earthy green-colored dresser, effortlessly bringing the outdoors in. The natural English Walnut table takes center stage in the dining area, with its textures and tones harmonizing with the natural woods outside.
As we enter the living room, a space designed for relaxed conversations and cherished moments with friends, we embraced a more formal ambiance. We opted for a neutral palette with soft grey tones on the joinery and furniture, punctuated by bursts of yellow in the accessories. It creates an inviting and serene atmosphere where you can unwind and connect.
Now, let's retreat to the snug—a room of warmth and tranquility. Inspired by a shimmering aquamarine velvet fabric from Pierre Frey, we envisioned a room that would envelop you in warmth and tranquility. Our design intent was to immerse you in the soothing power of a single colour. To achieve this, we used the striking aquamarine hue in various textures and shades. For the walls, we opted for a truly special touch with a luxurious and washable woven wallpaper from Elitis. The bespoke wall-to-wall joinery unit, painted in Tea Room Blue by Little Green, added depth and character to the space.
Moving on to the bedrooms, the master bedroom offered an oasis of serenity. Muted tones, such as Cromarty 285 by Farrow and Ball on the walls, paired with an elegantly framed walnut bed and exquisite glass pendant lights from Olive and Fox, created a calm and sophisticated space.
