The Tea House
The Tea House project was born from our clients who sought to blend their Indian roots, passion for Japanese design, and the timeless tradition of sharing tea with loved ones. During our initial consultation, we were captivated by the couple’s wedding photographs, which showcased a magnificent Indian wedding in Slovenia. The pre-wedding celebrations were an explosion of colors, with a Holi festival party in a picturesque field as the sun set. The energy and vibrancy of those moments were the inspiration behind this remarkable home, which encapsulates the essence of that unforgettable evening.
“We would like this home to be a homage to our Indian heritage,” said the client, as they showed us photos of their stunning gold-embroidered dress. It was in that moment that the brief began to unravel, a home centered around love, culture, and heritage.
The Tea House is a former artist’s studio from the early 1900s. Recently transformed into contemporary residences, the residence boasts original subway tiles, panelling, and double-height ceilings. The project required imaginative designs that would respect and enhance the listed features of the space. The outcome is a home that brims with character, blending styles and eras, resulting in a truly one-of-a-kind and enchanting project.
